Whale Watching Report July 29, 2024

Trip Highlights:

First saw scads of sea otters; I was surprised by how many there were and how large.  First orca spotted near Beaver Cove (A80), its tall dorsal rising from the water in the mist.  Then the rest of its pod feeding on lots of jumping salmon.  Later saw it again feeding very actively.  Finally out past Stubbs Island we saw several humpbacks.

Additional Comments:

Weather today was a challenge, limiting visibility but also water was flat and cruising smooth.  Had a great day, thank you!!!
